Day 16, the 18th of December 2007
Offically the last day of the dig. The team assembled in the morning in the site office and had a good cup of tea and had a good laugh before we started work. The usual team were there: Neil Adams, attended every day, enthusiastic, hard working, great photographer and all round bril bloke. Sara Hughes, what can I say a natural archaeologist, keen eye and good surveyor. Dave Douse, can dig all day, can spot a differentiation in contexts at 10 yards, along with Neil and Sara a good archaeologist. Other members of this team included John Lack, great ideas and thought, always had a way around problems, willing to help and learn. Big Dave Forster, worked very hard, along with Dave D was a demon with mattock and shovel, and had ingenious ways of interpreting the archaeology and like all the rest was great fun and also like the rest of team, a natural field archaeologist.
Other members of the team curtailed by univeristy commitments are as follows:
Ryan Arrowsmith, great potential, hard working good ideas. Karen Gavin, willing to help with anything including planning ( in which she has excelled). Phil Cox, project co-ordinator, although busy with co-ordninating and pushing the heritage project forward still finds time to come along to the dig, getting stuck in.
