Day 3 & Day 4, the 29 Nov 7 3rd Dec
On day 3 we had a full complement of archaeologists on site, so a lot was achived. Mainly taking off the over burden soils and cleaning up. Dave F, Karen Gavin and myself clearing overburden on the west end of trench. John Lack, Rayn Arrowsmith and Neil Adams cleaning back the stone revetment area of the steep east side of the trench.
Day 4 after a brief weekend hiatus revolved around the defining of rampart profile and the banking of stones on the east side in this Dave Douse, John Lack and Neil Adams all worked extremely hard. In between we admired the wonderful colour show of numerous rainbows which all appeared to end in the fast flowing waters of the ebulliant Alyn.
Tomorrow we will be digging for evidence of further stone revetment on the east side of the rampart and perhaps a similar structure on the other side.[story:135]Cadw Dig 2007 Design Brief[story][story:119]Dig Diary[story]
