14th April 2007 Our digging season officially began on the 14th of April, with the cleaning up of the on going trench, trench 14, this was done with great committment from the Caer Alyn team. Next week we will continue cleaning the debris within the trench hopefully revealling more archaeological features.

The Caer Alyn Archaeological & Heritage Project is now entering its fourth year and we can look back on a very busy and exciting season in 2006 and forward to what we hope will be an even more successful season in 2007.

Caeralyn.org was launched in January 2007.

The village of Llai, Wrexham will be holding their Annual Gala Day on the weekend of 6th/7th July 2007 at The Ring, Llai, LL12 0TN; an event which started back in 2004 to celebrate the 75th anniversary year of the Llai Miners' Welfare, an organisation which has been in existence since 1929 to support the miners who worked at the Llay colliery.
